GIDF recently celebrated its Founder’s Day on 28th of March 2013. The organization was founded by noted economist & management guru, Professor Arindam Chaudhuri, in the fond memory of his late younger brother Aurobindo Chaudhuri back in 2002. Since then, the foundation has grown into a worthy organization whose area of specialization are education, livelihood, health & environment . GIDF has its presence across 16 states of India.
Like every year, the staff organized a function with children at our learning centers in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Ahmedabad & Hyderabad.
The day started with a small prayer dedicated to Aurobindo Chaudhuri followed by a little introduction on GIDF given to the audience which not only included the IIPM students but also their parents. After this, there were several cultural events like dance competition, skit etc. which were wonderfully performed by the children who were successfully guided by their teachers. The colour, enthusiasm and confidence the children brought to the stage left the audience spellbound. On completion, the students were also asked to participate in short races, painting competition etc that were planned for them. The children enjoyed themselves thoroughly and by afternoon, snacks were served followed by distribution of prizes for the beaming winners.
In the end it was a sad farewell for everyone involved. The promise of the day left everyone with the spirit to come back for more.
